hey this is ralph and in this video i want to be able to write a little baby script so that i can get the value the input from a text box so previous video we just really quickly made a text box which is just using a label and of course the good old fashion wheres my editor there it is input type text i it does have an id i played around with placeholder just to see how that worked and of course we have the max length attribute in there but what i want um students in intro to javascript to be able to do is obviously easily make a text box input control but also to be able to get the value from the user and then do something with it and what were going to do is going to be pretty simple were going to get the value of this text box that the user provides and were just going to display it in a paragraph off to the side in anticipation of that we do need to be able to invoke our function call a function trigger the function and were going to do that with a button click so after my tex

Adjust the text box margins Click the outer edge of the text box to select it. On the Shape Format tab, click Format Pane. Click the Shape Options tab if it isnt already selected. Click the text box icon. , and then click Text Box. You can adjust the left, right, top, and bottom margins.
Connect text boxes Click Home Draw Text Box, and drag the cross shaped cursor to draw a box where you want text. Click in the text box you want as the first text box in the story. On the Text Box Tools Format tab, in the Linking group, click Create Link. Click in the text box you want as the next in the story.
If the text box is In Line With Text, its constrained by the margins. With any other text wrapping, you should be able to drag it anywhere. But it may be that all you need to do is change the internal margin of the text box: Right-click on the edge of the text box and choose Format Shape
Press and release ALT, N, and then press X. Press the arrow keys to select the Text box that you want, and then press ENTER.
Click or tap the object to select it. If that doesnt select it, go to Home Select and do one of the following: To select all of the text in the document, choose Select All. To select objects that are hidden, stacked, or behind text, choose Select Objects.
To move a text box: Click the text box you want to move. Hover the mouse over one of the edges of the text box. The mouse will change into a cross with arrows. Click and drag the text box to the desired location.
Click the border of the WordArt, text box, or shape that you want to move. To move multiple text boxes or shapes, press and hold Ctrl while you click the borders. When the cursor changes to the four headed arrow, drag it to the new location. To move in small increments, press and hold Ctrl while pressing an arrow key.
To format the text box itself, use the commands on the Shape Format contextual tab that appears when you select a text box. To position the text box, select it, and then when the pointer becomes a. four-headed arrow, drag the text box to a new location. You can also change or remove a border from a text box or shape.
Start by selecting the first block of text with the mouse. Then, scroll to the next block of highlighted text and hold down the Ctrl key while you select that. Once youve selected all the blocks you want to copy, press Ctrl + C.
