Results. Hematoxylin principally colors the nuclei of cells blue or dark-purple, along with a few other tissues, such as keratohyalin granules and calcified material.
Aldehyde fuchsin Elastic tissue fibers become stained a bluish purple colour, as do beta cell granules and sulphated mucins. Aldehyde fuchsin solution contains a mixture of basic fuchsin, 70% ethanol, concentrated hydrochloric acid, and paraldehyde. Aldehyde fuchsin is commonly used in combination with alcian blue.
H and E staining helps identify different types of cells and tissues and provides important information about the pattern, shape, and structure of cells in a tissue sample. It is used to help diagnose diseases, such as cancer.
Staining over an old, failing finish can lead to premature peeling or flaking of the new stain. Stripping eliminates this risk by ensuring a strong bond between the wood and the fresh stain.

Gram-positive organisms Gram-positive bacteria have cell walls that contain thick layers of peptidoglycan, a substance that forms the cell walls of many bacteria. The peptidoglycan forms about 90% of the cell wall in gram-positive bacteria. This causes them to appear blue to purple under a Gram stain.
