If your changes are to be on the same page, choose the Continuous section break. Otherwise, choose Next Page, Odd Page, or Even Page section breaks. If the formatting change occurs in the previous section, press Ctrl or Command + Z and move your cursor to after the section break and try it again.

If you are just creating the doc, then simply enter section breaks as you go. If you are working in an existing document, insert sections breaks at start and end of pages that need separate page sizes BEFORE changing the page size (it could get confusing otherwise).
Select the pages or paragraphs whose orientation you want to change. Click PAGE LAYOUT Page Setup dialog box launcher. In the Page Setup box, under Orientation, click Portrait or Landscape. Click the Apply to box, and click Selected text.
Change Page Size Click the Layout tab. Click the Size button. Select the size you want to use. If the size you want to use doesnt appear in the list, select More Paper Sizes. The Paper tab of the Page Setup dialog box appears, where you can enter a custom paper size.
In the Quick Access toolbar at the top of the Word window, click Customize Quick Access Toolbar (the small down arrow) and choose More Commands. Under Choose commands from, click All Commands. Scroll down through the list of commands until you find Shrink One Page.
Go to the Layout tab at the top of the screen. Click the Size button in the Page Setup group. A drop-down menu with several page sizes will appear. Choose one that fits your needs or select More Paper Sizes.
To resize a picture, on the Picture Format tab, enter the measurements you want in the Height and Width boxes. To resize a shape or WordArt, on the Shape Format tab, enter the measurements you want in the Height and Width boxes.
