In the Variables panel, select to open the Variables editor. Select Settings to open the Configure variable sets dialog box. Add the Name of the Variable set and click to display the variable set name in the list below. Select Done.
How to Create an Action in Photoshop Step 1: Open the Actions Panel. Go to Window Actions to toggle the Actions panel Step 2: Create an Action Set + Create Your Action. To keep things neatly organized, lets create a folder for our custom actions. Step 3: Record Your Steps. Step 4: Stop Recording.
Assign a value to the variable: Once you have created a variable, you can assign a value to it using the Set to block from the Variables category. Drag the block into the workspace, select the variable you want to assign a value to, and enter the value you want to store.
To declare (create) a variable, you specify the type, leave at least one space, then the name for the variable and end the line with a semicolon ( ; ). Java uses the keyword int for integer, double for a floating point number (a double precision number), and boolean for a Boolean value (true or false).
The value to be assigned to each variable can be specified immediately following the variable, for example, variable = expression, variable = expression. Or, sets of parentheses can be used to specify all the variables and then all the values, for example, (variable, variable) = (expression, expression).
To define a variable in Photoshop, target the layer and select Image Variables Define. In the Variables dialog box, choose the desired layer, select the variable type and enter names for the variables.
You can assign three different types of variables: Visibility variables let you show or hide the content of a layer. Pixel Replacement variables let you replace the pixels in the layer with pixels from another image file. Text Replacement variables let you replace a string of text in a type layer.
Photoshop lets you record tools such as the brush tool in your action. To enable this feature, choose Allow Tool Recording from the Actions panel menu.
