Five best shortcut keys in Microsoft Word. Number one. Press CTRL together with delete and this removes the word to the right of the cursor. Press CTRL together with backspace and this removes the word to the left of the cursor. Number two. Highlight some formatted text and press CTRL + Shift + C. This copies the formatting. Then select another word and press CTRL + Shift + V and that pastes the formatting. With a word selected, press CTRL + spacebar to remove the formatting altogether. Number three. Select a word and then press Shift + F7. This opens up the thesaurus and you can sound more smarter. Number four. Press Alt + Shift + Up Arrow or Down Arrow to move a paragraph up or down. You can choose to view your document in Read Mode, Print Layout, or Web Layout. These views can be useful for various tasks, especially if youre planning to print the document.
You can switch from View only to other modes granted by the document owner (Editing, Reviewing). Select the Viewing tab to open the options. Select Editing or Reviewing.
Microsoft Word gives you five different views of a document, and each has its own advantages over the others. There are two ways of changing the view you have of a document.

Word files may be read-only due to Protected View, password protection, or file permissions in Windows or macOS. If youre using Windows, right-click the file, select Properties, click the Properties tab, then remove the Read-only attribute.
Changing a read-only file Find the file you want to edit. Right-click the file (PC) or Control-Click (Mac), and then click Properties. Click the General tab, clear the Read-only check box, and then click OK. Edit and save your file as needed.
