Adding an APA running head amp;amp; page numbers in Word: A tutorial in 2 minutes. The header goes at the top left, page numbers go at the top right. Every page of your paper needs a header and page number, but the title page is different than all following pages. The title page is always page 1 and has the words Running head. The next page is where the body of your paper begins, page 2. The heading at the top left has dropped the words amp;#39;Running head:amp;#39; leaving only the title of your paper in all capital letters. Microsoft Word can do this work for us. Start on your title page. On the amp;#39;Insertamp;#39; menu, click amp;#39;Page Number,amp;#39; amp;#39;Top of Page,amp;#39; then amp;#39;Plain Number 1.amp;#39; On the amp;#39;Designamp;#39; ribbon, check the box next to amp;#39;Different First Page.amp;#39; This will make the number 1 disappear. Type amp;#39;Running head: YOUR TITLEamp;#39; Press the amp;#39;tabamp;#39; key twice, and type the number
