In this case, Im going to sequence the motif, which is a fancy way of saying Im going to move it up or down in pitch, and Im also going to switch up the last two notes.
Motif examples in literature The motif of the mockingbird appears during specific moments to symbolize innocence and goodness. As a motif, the mockingbird reminds the reader of the books main theme. In Jane Eyre, the motif of fire appears in language, objects, and imagery throughout the novel.
Motive is something that causes you to act. Its of psychological origin. Motif, on the other hand, is a dominant idea or figure that recurs in a work. Its mostly used in the domain of (creative) writing.
