Key R functions to change ggplot legends: p + labs(). Change legend title. p + theme(). Change legend theme: background color, legend box border, font size and color. p + scalexdiscrete(limits = c(2, 0.5, 1)). p + scalefilldiscrete(name = Dose, labels = c(A, B, C)). guides().
The default is for the legend names to refer to the variable or formula which is mapped to that aesthetic. You can change this either using the lab() function or the name parameter inside the scale* function which controls that aesthetic.
If you prefer working with the ggplot2 package for creating more complex and customizable plots, you can modify the legend size using the theme() function. In this ggplot2 example, we create a scatterplot and use the theme() function to modify the legends size. We set the size inside override.
Select your chart and on the Chart Design tab, choose Select Data. Choose on the legend name you want to change in the Select Data Source dialog box, and select Edit. Note: You can update Legend Entries and Axis Label names from this view, and multiple Edit options might be available.
Since the legend is a text object, you can edit it using methods common to all text objects: To open the Legend dialog box, press Ctrl + double-click on the graph legend text or right-click and choose Properties. To enter in-place edit mode double-click.
There are two ways of changing the legend title and labels. The first way is to tell the scale to use have a different title and labels. The second way is to change data frame so that the factor has the desired form.
The legend title is automatically set, and can be overrided with the labels keyword argument: import plotly.express as px df = px. data. tips() fig = px. import plotly.express as px df = px. data. tips() fig = px. In [7]: import plotly.express as px df = px. data.
