13-inch MacBook Pro. Fourth generation. LCD works but no backlight. Remove the bottom cover. Separate the display assembly. Check the backlight flex cable. Backlight cable is worn and damaged. The Air Slice screen disassembly tool. In the plastic box, 10 glass removal strips. 4 types of discs. Total of 8 discs. Remove the rubber gasket using tweezers. Remove all rubber along the edges. Dip a glass removal strip in some alcohol. Insert the strip below the logo baffle. Move it up and down. Use more alcohol if it gets hard. Unscrew and remove spring strip. Select a disc size that suits to your hand. Just a touch of alcohol. Start from the right side of the screen. Disc must be inserted below the metal brace. Rotate the disc back and forth along the edge. When it gets hard, use more alcohol. Slow down around corners. Camera area has more glue. Slow down here too. Slowly remove any remaining glue. When thats done, remove the LCD. Apply a protective film on the LCD. Cut off excess film. Pro
