A clustered columnstore index always includes all columns of the table, whereas a nonclustered columnstore index only includes the specified columns though typically these will be all or most of the tables columns anyway.
A clustered index is used to define the order or to sort the table or arrange the data by alphabetical order just like a dictionary. A non-clustered index collects the data at one place and records at another place. It is faster than a non-clustered index.
In general terms, Ascending means smallest to largest, 0 to 9, and/or A to Z and Descending means largest to smallest, 9 to 0, and/or Z to A.
Index: It is a schema object which is used to provide improved performance in the retrieval of rows from a table. Unique Index: Unique indexes guarantee that no two rows of a table have duplicate values in the key column (or columns).
Clustered indexes are indexes whose order of the rows in the data pages corresponds to the order of the rows in the index. This order is why only one clustered index can exist in any table, whereas, many non-clustered indexes can exist in the table.
A clustered index is faster. A non-clustered index is slower. The clustered index requires less memory for operations.
Retrieving data based on the index is faster using clustered indexes than nonclustered indexes because the data is physically stored in the same order.
In general, ASC or DESC specifiers are used with ORDER BY clauses to specify whether index values are stored in ascending or descending order. It is also worth mentioning that NULLS FIRST is used by default if it has not been specified in the command.
