However not everybody knows all the different things that it can do. Let me start off with a simple one. You can get the word count of your document by simply going to View, then Show Word Count or Shift Command W. This brings up the word count at the bottom of the screen. It tells you the word count of the entire document. But if you select some text it will tell you the word count of just that selection. If you click here you can see the character count with or without spaces, words, paragraphs, or pages. You can switch to one of those to be the default. Now heres something

Turn change tracking on or off Turn on tracking: Choose Edit Track Changes (from the Edit menu at the top of your screen). If the review toolbar is showing above your document, you can also click Track Changes in the toolbar. , then choose Turn Off Tracking.
For all changes in a range of text: Select the text, then click Accept or Reject in the review toolbar. All tracked changes within the range are accepted or rejected at once. in the review toolbar, then choose Accept All Changes or Reject All Changes.
It does not cost anything. I just copied the two versions into their text documents, save them. Leave the original open, then under Edit track changes compare you open the edited one and you can see all the changes.
You can track changes to body text and text in text boxes, shapes, and footnotes (including document and section endnotes). When tracking is turned on, changed text appears in a different color from the surrounding text, and change bars appear in the margin.
Choose Edit Track Changes (from the Edit menu at the top of your computer screen). A review toolbar appears at the top of the page.
On the toolbar go to Comments Tab Sanitize. Select the comment properties you would like to remove or replace. Select to anonymize all comments or only comments from a specific author. Click apply to make the changes.
Click or tap at the beginning of the document. On the Review tab, select Track Changes. Select Accept or Reject. As you accept or reject changes, Word will move to the next change.
Choose View Comments Changes Author Color (from the View menu at the top of your screen), then choose a color.
