all right so the main important thing is we have five raised to the x minus three plus two equals eight so the main important thing to apply uh the one to one property to apply the one to one property basically what we need to do is isolate the exponent we cannot even use that the property never know we cant even use that property unless we have the i the exponent isolated so the first thing we need to do is subtract 2 on both sides now we have five raised to the x minus three is equal to six and ladies and gentlemen we cant use the one-to-one property because we cant think of a number thats raised to a power thats going to be the same for five and for six so what we can do though is take the log and remember using my properties if i take the log of the base thats um is if i take the log of base of the same as the five then i can eliminate that and its just going to be equal to my power which is x minus 3. so what ill do is ill take log base 5 of 5 raised to the x minus 3 equa
