Drag the yellow dot down the column. Or select the cell with the formula, type command-c to copy, select all the cells in the column, type command-v to paste.
Double-tap the cell with the formula you want to copy. Tap to the right of the formula in the formula editor above the keyboard, then tap Select. Drag the blue selection handles to encompass only the part of the formula you want to copy, then tap Copy.
If you do not want cell references to change when you copy a formula, then make those cell references absolute cell references. Place a $ before the column letter if you want that to always stay the same. Place a $ before a row number if you want that to always stay the same.
Force formula to always use same cell with the F4 key 1. Select the formula cell to display the formula in the Formula Bar. Click on the reference cell you want to always use in the formula, and then press the F4 key.
You simply need to double-click on the cell in the table. The bar at the bottom is just a viewer. You need to edit it in the cell. You can also choose Edit, Edit Formula or the keyboard shortcut Control+= to start editing.
Press F2 (or double-click the cell) to enter the editing mode. Select the formula in the cell using the mouse, and press Ctrl + C to copy it. Select the destination cell, and press Ctl+V. This will paste the formula exactly, without changing the cell references, because the formula was copied as text.
If you want to maintain the original cell reference when you copy it, you lock it by putting a dollar sign ($) before the cell and column references. For example, when you copy the formula =$A$2+$B$2 from C2 to D2, the formula stays exactly the same.
Select the cell with the formula and the adjacent cells you want to fill. Click Home Fill, and choose either Down, Right, Up, or Left. Keyboard shortcut: You can also press Ctrl+D to fill the formula down in a column, or Ctrl+R to fill the formula to the right in a row.
Use Drag-fill Click on a cell containing a value or formula that you want to copy into adjacent cells. Hover the mouse over the lower-right corner of the cellthe insertion point should change to a cross hair. Click-and-drag the lower-right corner towards any other adjacent cells.
Keyboard shortcut Some computers require you to press and hold the Fn key before pressing F4. This shortcut adds $ before both the column and row name at the same time. You can also use a keyboard shortcut when using a Mac operating system. The shortcut Command + T adds the reference to the formula.
