The reason your footer is only halfway down the page with position: absolute is that you havent set a min-height on the body and html elements. Without that, the body only takes up as much space as you have content for it -- and then the footer is aligned with that bottom, not the bottom of the window.
Quick answer: Add display:flex; flex-direction:column; min-height:100vh; to body or appropriate layout body element, then add flex:1; to content wrapper element/section.
Create a footer div with position: absolute; bottom: 0; and the desired height. Set the padding of the footer to add whitespace between the content bottom and the window bottom. Create a container div that wraps the body content with position: relative; min-height: 100%;
Making the footer sticky Set the container to display: flex; . The container is the body in our example. Change the containers flex-direction: column . This lets the footer flow below the content. Give the container full height with min-height: 100vh; . Finally, give the footer enough margin with margin-top: auto; .
This article explains how to use a sticky footer and how to use the sticky footer in an ASP.NET Master Page. Open your Visual Studio then select Add New Project then select Add Master Page Add ASPX Page. Now open your Master Page and add this script within the head tag. Then write the following div within your form:
Just wrap your . container and your . footer in a flex container with a min-height: 100vh, switch the direction to column so that they stack on top of each other, and justify the content with space between so that footer will move to the bottom.
You can use flexbox to ensure that the footer is always at the bottom of the page. This is done by setting the giving the body element min-height: 100vh , display: flex and flex-direction: column .
