in this video I am going to show you a few different options that you have for inserting the date in Google Docs so many users are not aware of these features that you have for inserting date so that is what Im going to show in this video so the first method that Im going to show is inserting date just using the insert option at the top of the menu so what Im going to do here is Click into my document and then insert and then from this drop down were going to select date from here at the date picker calendar opens up on your screen and you can select any date that you wish with this calendar if you want to insert the current date you can select this today option at the bottom and so that is the first method of inserting the date in Google Docs its just through insert date now there are some keyboard shortcuts that you have for inserting the date and to do this youre using the at symbol and then typing date and then um you have a few different options that you can do here so at da

Open your Google Document and under Tools select Script editor. This opens Googles script editor where its possible to create macros for Google Documents. Now refresh or reopen your document and a new menu item appears: Utilities. Under this menu an item appears called Insert Date.
