hey guys eddie the magic monk here as you can see i have a csv file called test data open in excel and in this file you can see that the dates are in the american format okay so here in australia we write dates as 2507 if itamp;#39;s 25th of july but in america itamp;#39;s 7 25 so i want to change this to match the australian or the international standard so this is what i would do okay i would get out of this csv file iamp;#39;m going to create another one uh an excel file and iamp;#39;m gonna call it date converted okay and iamp;#39;m gonna open up this excel file and what iamp;#39;m gonna do is iamp;#39;m gonna go into the data menu and iamp;#39;m going to click on from text csv and itamp;#39;s in the section called get and transform data and what it does is it obtains the data from a csv file and transforms it before we put it in the spreadsheet so letamp;#39;s click on that and letamp;#39;s choose the folder from our desktop test data and you can see itamp;#39;s uh det

Nevertheless, the term CSV is widely used to refer to a large family of formats that differ in many ways. Some implementations allow or require single or double quotation marks around some or all fields; and some reserve the first record as a header containing a list of field names.

CSV files do not store data types. Data in CSV files is stored as text. Your best options are: Store in a serialized or other type-aware format (pickle, HDF5) if this is appropriate for your use case.
