Depending on where you want to start extraction, use one of these formulas: LEFT function - to extract a substring from the left. RIGHT function - to extract text from the right. MID function - to extract a substring from the middle of a text string, starting at the point you specify.
Set all automatic formatting options at once Click File Options. In the Excel Options box, click Proofing AutoCorrect Options. On the AutoFormat As You Type tab, check the boxes for the auto formatting you want to use.
To select a range, select a cell, then with the left mouse button pressed, drag over the other cells. Or use the Shift + arrow keys to select the range. To select non-adjacent cells and cell ranges, hold Ctrl and select the cells.
Anyone who has used Excel for some time knows how to use the autofill feature to autofill an Excel cell based on another. You simply click and hold your mouse in the lower right corner of the cell, and drag it down to apply the formula in that cell to every cell beneath it (similar to copying formulas in Excel).
In the formula bar, type an equal sign (=). In the worksheet, select the cell that contains the data or text that you want to display in the title, label, or text box on the chart. Press ENTER. The contents of the cell is displayed in the title, label, or text box that you selected.
