1.1 Declarative content clauses. 1.2 Interrogative content clauses.
Numeric Picture Clauses. Basic numeric picture clauses use a 9 to represent a single byte of storage; a single-digit, single-byte numeric variable will have a picture clause of PIC 9, while a five-digit, five-byte numeric variable can be defined as PIC 99999, PIC 9(5), or PIC 9(05).
An indicator of the location of the assumed decimal point. It may appear only once in a character string. The V does not represent a character position and, therefore, is not counted in the size of the elementary item.
With image variations you can render different versions of one image by means of scaling, cropping and other filters. Built-in image variations include four versions that provide the image at a specific scale: tiny , small , medium , and large . You can also create custom image variations.
During the Employees employment, the Company or its agents may obtain images of the Employee for subsequent use in Company materials, including promotional and marketing materials. The Employees name and biographical information may or may not be included along with such images.
For example, a picture clause of PIC 999V99 represents a five-digit number with an implied decimal; three of the digits are left of the decimal point, and two are post-decimal digits.
A PICTURE clause can be specified only at the elementary item level. A character-string consists of certain allowable combinations of characters in the COBOL character set used as symbols. The allowable combinations determine the category of the elementary item.
The suppression of leading zeros in numeric character positions is indicated by the use of the Z and * symbols. These symbols are mutually exclusive in a PICTURE clause. If a Z is used, the replacement character is a space. If * is used, the replacement character is an asterisk.
