If everything is working properly, 1250 to 1300 F. is a safe turbine inlet temperature, even for sustained running, mile after mile. Above 1300 F. things can start to get edgy. Remember, excessive EGT damage is cumulative.

The easiest way is to simply select the new data range you want to use for your chart, and then click on the Update button in the Data Range section of the Excel Chart Tools ribbon. This will automatically update your chart to use the new data range.
Commonly, diesel performance enthusiasts will ask: Whats a safe EGT? The short answer is anything sustained below 1350 degrees Fahrenheit is acceptable by most OEM standards so long as your other engine temperatures remain within safe boundaries.
At Manta Performance, we recommend that your EGT stay under 550C (as measured at the turbo outlet) to assure your engines safety. What happens when your EGT gets too high? Nothing good! Certain parts of your engine can fail due to the excessive heat produced.
High EGT is an indication that the engine is running lean and it needs more fuel in the AFR. 950 is too high. Generally 850 is considered the the higher limit for EGT.
A pie chart represents numbers in percentages, and the total sum of all segments needs to equal 100%.
