When editing a long article, inserting bullets and numbering helps clarify the article's structure. To create multilevel lists, select the text to be numbered, then go to the Home tab and click the Numbering drop-down button, choosing "More Numbering." This opens the Bullets and Numbering dialog. Click the Outline Numbered tab to view various numbering styles. To customize a selected style, click the Customize button and navigate to the Number format area. Here, Level 1 and Level 2 refer to first- and second-level headings, respectively. You can also choose from different Number styles, with items in the Number format category representing default styles. For instance, ① signifies Level-one numbering.
