Many newcomers to your channel will notice the purple emblem next to your username on your channel, which indicates that you are a verified Twitch member. When Twitch partners communicate on other media, a badge next to their name will reflect that they have been confirmed on Twitch.
The star icon next to your name in Twitch chat is a subscriber chat badge. It indicates that you are a subscriber to the channel you are currently visiting on Twitch.

The colors on Twitch streamer names indicate different types of users on the platform: Grey - Regular user (no Twitch subscription or affiliation) Purple - Twitch Prime user (a subscription benefit for Amazon Prime members) Blue - Twitch Turbo user (a paid subscription for an ad-free experience and other benefits)
Receiving a gift subscription will qualify you for Founders Badge if the gifted sub is amongst the first 10 (for Affiliates) or first 25 (for Partners) Prime or paid subscriptions on the channel. The gifted recipient must choose to continue their gifted sub while there are still badges left to earn.
Partner: Creators who have met specific eligibility criteria and been accepted into the Twitch Partner Program. Partners can be identified by the purple check mark that appears to the right of their username across the service. Streamer: A content creator and channel owner on Twitch. See also creator.
The Twitch 1st badge as its called due to its actual appearance is only available on certain channels specifically, Twitch affiliates and Twitch partner channels. There, the 1st badge can replace the normal subscriber badge but only for the first few people who ever subscribed to that channel.
5y ago. Iirc purple star is a subscriber to a channel that doesnt have custom sub badges.
