Sharing files and coauthoring in Teams is easyshare files in a one-on-one chat, a group chat, or a team channel. Select the paperclip icon below the box where you type a message to upload a copy of your original file. Or upload a file by going to the Files tab of a chat and selecting Share.
Files that you upload to a channel are stored in your teams SharePoint folder. These files are available in the Files tab at the top of each channel.
Add a cloud storage service to Teams In the desktop or web app, select Files. on the left side of Teams, and then select Add cloud storage. Select your cloud storage service from the list that comes up. Sign in with your account.
To upload files to Teams, use these steps: Open Microsoft Teams. Click on Teams. Select the team (channel). Click the Attach button from the message section. Click the Upload from my computer option.
Files that you upload to a channel are stored in your teams SharePoint folder. These files are available in the Files tab at the top of each channel. Files that you upload to a one-on-one or group chat are stored in your OneDrive for Business folder and are shared only with the people in that conversation.
Using the add cloud storage feature, allows everyone with permissions to the original folder to access to the files from a team channel. At the time of writing this feature supports the following external storage providers: SharePoint. Dropbox.
Drag and drop - Using your mouse, drag the file from where its currently located and drop it on the Teams window among the files. Upload - Select Upload,then select the file (or files) youd like to upload, and select Open.
OneDrive for Business cloud storage is available by default in Teams. To share files from other cloud storage you first must add them to Teams.
