Google will automatically upgrade the storage cloud data limit on every Google Workspace account from 15GB to 1TB.
You will no longer be able to synchronize or access your data from your local computer. But, rest assured all the data will remain safe inside the cloud storage. None of the data will be deleted from your cloud storage account and you can still access all your files without any problem.
If youre over your quota for 2 years or longer: If you dont free up or purchase more space to get back under quota, all of your content may be removed from Gmail, Google Photos, and Google Drive (this includes Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Forms, and Jamboard files).
As of June 1, 2021, newly created Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Forms, and Jamboard files count towards your storage. Files that were created before June 1st wont count towards storage unless theyre modified on or after that date.
Until you reduce the amount of storage you use, neither you nor anyone else can edit or copy your files. Syncs stop between your computers Google Drive folder and My Drive. Important: As of June 1, 2021, if you remain inactive or go over your storage quota for 2 years or longer, all of your content may be deleted.
Each Google Account includes 15 GB of storage, which is shared across Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos. To add to your storage quota, you can purchase a Google One membership, where available.
