3. Lock selected cells. With the required cells selected, press Ctrl + 1 to open the Format Cells dialog (or right-click the selected cells and click Format Cells), switch to the Protection tab, and check the Locked checkbox.
To delete all checkboxes at a time, go to the Home tab Editing group Find Select Go To Special, select the Objects radio button, and click OK. This will select all the check boxes on the active sheet, and you simply press the Delete key to remove them.
Then, follow these steps: Open the PDF in Acrobat Pro on Windows or Mac. Choose Tools Encrypt Remove Security. If the document has a Document Open password, click OK to remove it. If the document has a permissions password, type the correct password in the Enter Password box and then click OK.
Lock or Unlock Cells Select the cells you want to unlock. Click the Format button on the Home tab. Select Format Cells. Click the Protection tab. Clear the Locked check box. You can also toggle the lock on and off by clicking the Format button and selecting Lock Cell. Click OK.
To unprotect the check box, right-click on it and choose Format Control. Excel displays the Format Control dialog box. On the Protection tab, make sure the Locked check box is cleared. Check boxes are also linked to specific cells in a worksheet.
