There are 3 ways to make custom fields required. Click on the gear icon then Setup Object Manager. Choose the object Fields Relationships. Select the custom field that you will make required. Click on Edit and under General Options select Required. Click on Save.
Many forms have fields that must be filled in by the user. One of the advantages of using mobile forms over paper or spreadsheets is that you can prevent the user from submitting the form until all of the mandatory information has been filled in.
Making a field required in docHub Open the necessary PDF form, choose Forms Signatures Prepare Form. Select the field that needs to be required, right click on it and choose Set as a Required Field: Save changes.
How to indicate a required field Provide the required text in the label. Provide a graphic * image in the label with appropriate alt text. Providing a star (asterisk) symbol. Use of color to identify if a form control is required. Providing HTML5 and ARIA required attributes.
The asterisk means that the field has an index. A Shapefile does not have any indexed fields by default, you need to add them. A GeoDatabase Featureclass always has a spatial index on the Shape field and attribute index on the ObjectID.
A distinctive sign (* symbol, mandatory mention, etc.) must be provided in the label of each mandatory field. If a symbol is used to declare mandatory fields, a statement placed at the beginning of the form must indicate that the symbol stands for a mandatory field.
With the form fields added to the PDF, right click on the Signature field you are wanting to edit and choose Properties. Then from the Signed tab, choose to Mark as read-only and select the fields you want to lock after signing. Finally, Close.
If the fillable fields in a PDF show as blank after getting filled in, the PDF will need to be printed to a new PDF to resolve this issue. This is typically caused when the PDF is filled using something other than Acrobat (i.e., a web browser or other PDF editing software).
How to enforce Required Fields in a PDF form Open the PDF form. Right-click on the form field click on Properties click General. Select Required. Click on Actions. Under Select Trigger, select On Blur. Select Run a JavaScript under Select Action. Insert the following text:
