With the blank document open, go first to Layout. Then, on the Margins dropdown menu, select Normal for 1-inch margins on all sides, top, bottom, left, and right. Next, lets set alignment and line spacing by clicking on the Home tab. Then in the Paragraph grouping, select Align Left. Move your cursor over to the spacing tools dropdown menu and select 2.0 for double spacing. Now lets set our indentation for the first line of a paragraph. Click on the Paragraph dialog box launcher arrow. In the box that appears, under Special select First Line and make sure the number is 0.5 or half inch. How do I cite the same source many times? Use a shortened form of the citation. Lets say you wrote a footnote (or endnote) for this book after you quoted from page 32: Cite the page number in the text. Use an abbreviation. Use ibid.
The footnote number is added to document at the insertion point. Enter the footnote text.Inserting Duplicate Footnote using Symbols. On the Reference tab, in the Footnotes group, click the Dialog Launcher. In the Custom Mark field type the preferred number or symbol. Click the Insert button. Enter the footnote text.
All you have to do is click on insert then choose cross-reference. Then format it footnote and footnote (number formatted).

Ibid. (the abbreviation for ibidem, meaning in the same place) refers to the work cited in the preceding footnote or to the preceding work within the same footnote.
If the subsequent citation is in the footnote immediately following the full citation, you can use ibid. Used alone, ibid means in the very same place in other words, the same source and the same page or paragraph as the preceding full citation.
Repeated footnote references. In a change from past practice, numbered footnote indicators are no longer repeated in resolutions. When a reference must be repeated, a new footnote with the identical text should be inserted.
Insert your first (primary) footnote as normal. Position the insertion point in the document where you want the secondary reference to the footnote. Choose Cross-reference from the Insert menu. Word displays the Cross-reference dialog box.
To keep footnotes on the same page in Word: Open your Word document. Select your footnote near the page footer. Right-click the footnote and select Paragraph. Select the Line and Page Breaks tab. Click to enable the Keep lines together checkbox.
Do not place multiple footnotes at the same point in your text (e.g. 1, 2, 3). If you need to cite multiple sources in one sentence, you can combine the citations into one footnote, separated by semicolons: 1. Hulme, Romanticism and Classicism; Eliot, The Waste Land; Woolf, Modern Fiction, 11.
