The History Brush tool allows you to restore parts of an image to an earlier history state by painting over them. Choose Window History to open the History panel. In the History panel, click the far-left column of the state that you want to use as the source for the History Brush tool.
Your History is basically just a log of every single action you take while working in Photoshop. For instance, when you open a file, it creates a log entry. When you create a type layer or change the font size or color, it creates a separate entry.
