If you have not committed the changes that deleted the files and directories, then you can use the git checkout command to checkout a previous commit, branch, or tag. This will overwrite the working tree with the contents of the specific commit, branch, or tag, and any deleted files and directories will be restored.
Your only option for undoing the effects of removing a tag is to reapply that tag. When youre the owner of the photo youre retagging, the tag is applied immediately. If you retag a photo you didnt upload, the person whose photo youre reapplying the tag to may have to approve the tag before its applied.
You can easily delete a tag on your local git repository using the git tag -d tagname command.
