Delete ACL entries from a file by using the setfacl command. Deletes the specified ACL entries. Specifies the list of ACL entries (without specifying the permissions) to delete from the file or directory. You can only delete ACL entries and default ACL entries for specific users and groups.
So, the setfacl command is a Linux utility for setting and modifying file and directory access control lists (ACLs). -m or modify=acl: modify permissions. -x or remove=acl: remove permissions. -b or remove-all: remove all permissions. -d or default: apply default permission to newly created files along the path.
So in order to remove ACLs just run setfacl -b -R on the directory, and chmod g=rwx afterwards. (Fixing group permissions might be needed, because currently your changes actually went to changing the ACL mask instead.)
You can drop the access control list by using the DROPACL Procedure. To remove an access control list assignment, use the UNASSIGNACL Procedure. The port range is applicable only to the connect privilege assignments in the ACL.
How to Delete ACL Entries From a File Delete ACL entries from a file by using the setfacl command. $ setfacl -d acl-entry-list filename -d. Deletes the specified ACL entries. acl-entry-list. To verify that the ACL entries were deleted from the file, by using the getfacl command. $ getfacl filename.
