hey guys mad with another stamp video so today we are going to talk about um how to safely and easily take stamps that are on paper off so iamp;#39;m sure a lot of you guys get huge you know bins of stamps or huge stamp collections that have stamps that have paper still attached to them now if we went with our tweezers and just try to pry these stamps off the paper they would definitely tear um we would lose the stamp and then itamp;#39;ll be worthless so a lot of people just collect stamps so theyamp;#39;re not sure how to take it off iamp;#39;ve heard people talk about using steam to take it off iamp;#39;ve heard people talk about using special chemicals to take it off but for me um the easiest way i found out to take samsoft paper is just to use water so iamp;#39;ll just explain it and show you guys right now so iamp;#39;ll put the stamps up here i actually brought a water bowl all right so nothing special with this water okay um this water is um just normal faucet water noth

How to unhinge stamps?

With the stamp securely held under the acetate, use a pair of tongs or the back of a spoon, or another similar roundish metal object and put downward pressure on the hinge area, rubbing hard while applying the pressure. Unless stuck badly, this should loosen the hinge enough to peel it off successfully.

I use lukewarm water, which will help melt the gum under the hinge slightly, hopefully enabling the hinge to be carefully peeled off. Because we have squeezed off all excess water to prevent spillage over the hinge edges, it will usually be necessary to apply multiple water brushings to the hinge.
