Papanicolaou stain (also Papanicolaous stain and Pap stain) is a multichromatic (multicolored) cytological staining technique. The Papanicolaou stain is one of the most widely used stains in cytology, where it is used to aid pathologists in making a diagnosis.
Because your discharge and blood is made of proteins, any enzymatic spray is your best bet to remove the stains. Like OxiClean or Resolve. Just tossing in a scoop of one of these into the wash isnt going to do *anything,* which is why using a spray is better since you can really target the spot.
You generally dont want to leave a stain untreated for more than a week. Any time after this, removing the stain becomes harder. After years, it will most likely be permanent unless the fabric is especially forgiving like microfiber.
Pap staining is used to differentiate cells in smear preparations (in which samples are spread or smeared onto a glass microscope slide) from various bodily secretions and needle biopsies; the specimens may include gynecological smears (Pap smears), sputum, brushings, washings, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, abdominal
The Papanicolaou stain is undoubtedly the most commonly used in cytology. It has three cytoplasmic dyes, orange G, eosin Y, and light blue. It can stain cells blue or blue-green (basophilia, cyanophilia), pink (acidophilia, eosinophilia), orange (orangeophilia), or indeterminate (gray-blue).
Use a clean cotton bud and some clean cold water and gently dab the blood stain enough to moisten and dilute it slightly. Use a dry cotton bud to roll over the surface and mop up the blood. Do not allow the paper to become too wet as it will distort.
Described pap staining liquid includes improvement haematoxylin dyeing liquid, EA50 dyeing liquor and orange G dyeing liquor. Wherein, improvement haematoxylin dyeing liquid includes following components: sodium iodate, HAEMATOXYLIN, aluminium potassium sulfate, ethanol, glacial acetic acid and water.
Pap staining procedure is classified into two types i.e progressive and regressive method. In progressive method the nucleus is stained to the intensity required followed by bluing agent. Mayer Hematoxylin and Gills hematoxylin is preferred.
