What youll need to do. Combine 3 parts baking soda to 1 part water. Take a Q-Tip and put a little bit of the paste on one side. Rub the affected area with the paste on the Q-Tip, try to keep it in a circular motion. The scuff should disappear, like magic. Take a wet paper towel and wipe the excess paste off.
Water baking soda paste A paste of baking soda and water (mix the parts until theyre the consistency of toothpaste) is mildly abrasive, so it gently buffs away surface scuffs when you rub it on the wall in circular motions with a cloth.
Place a few drops of mild dish soap in to a small bowl of warm water and gently stir. Dip in your soft cloth or sponge, and wring out before gently scrubbing the mark, making sure not to saturate the area, and finish by wiping dry with a soft, clean cloth.
Lightly sand the area immediately surrounding the scuff mark. Clean the surface using a sponge or clean cloth and a mixture of mild soap and water. Dry with a clean towel before proceeding. Use a spackling compound to fill in any minor dents, following the directions on the label for use and drying time.
For most marks, all you need is a soft sponge and warm soapy water. For the majority of paints, you need to use a soft sponge and not a scouring pad. However our paint is extra scrubbable and can handle a scouring pad, so if youve got some particularly stubborn marks you dont have to worry about damaging the paint.
Soap and Water Can Save the Day Warm water is the first solution to try when removing scuff marks. The addition of some gentle dish soap can make things even easier. Take a soft sponge or cloth, dampen it with the water-based solution, and gently wipe the targeted area until the scuff mark disappears.
Mix 1 cup white vinegar and 1 gallon warm water in a cleaning bucket. Dip your cloth into the vinegar water and clean from the top towards the bottom. The other method is to use Sugar soap, if you have concentrate sugar soap mix 1 table spoon of sugar soap with one cup of water for cleaning.
For any stubborn stains on painted walls, use baking soda and water. Baking soda is a natural stain remover. Mix half a cup of baking soda with a quarter cup of water to form a paste. Gently rub that paste into the stained part of the wall and wipe it after a few minutes.
