To turn them off, click the File tab, click Options, click the Advanced category, scroll down to the Display options for this worksheet section, and clear the Show page breaks check box.
What happens if you unintentionally delete a tab in Excel? There is no undo for recovering a deleted tab. The general solution is to get the last saved version of the file to recover the tab. This works for anything that you cannot undo in Excel.
Click under the page break. On your keyboard, press Backspace or Delete until the page break is removed.
Find the appropriate Excel file, select it and then select Home on the menu bar. Select History to review the various versions, searching for the most recent. Open the file. Once opened, select Restore to reopen the missing worksheet.
Hover the mouse pointer at the edge of the scrollbar until you see the double-headed arrow (see the figure). Click-and-drag the arrow to the right, until you see the complete tab name and any other tabs. The worksheet itself is hidden. To unhide a worksheet, right-click on any visible tab and then click Unhide.
Remove a manual page break Select the row below the page break. Select the column to the right of the page break. On the Layout tab, under Page Setup, click Breaks, and then click Remove Page Break.
Excel displays a solid line (manual page break) to show you where the new page begins. Dashed lines are page breaks inserted automatically by Excel. Note: in a similar way, you can select a column to insert a vertical page break.
Double-click the page break so that its selected, and then press Delete.
