On a notebook computer keyboard, while holding down the FN key, press either the NUM LOCK or SCROLL LOCK to enable the function. Press the same key combination again to disable the function. On a desktop computer keyboard, press NUM LOCK or SCROLL LOCK to enable the function, and press it again to disable the function.
To enable the numeric keypad, press Num Lock. The Num Lock light indicates that the keypad is active. To disable the numeric keypad, press Num Lock again.
When enabled, NumLock lets you use the 7-8-9, u-i-o, j-k-l and m keys as a numeric keypad. The NmLk key is located on the top, right hand side of the keyboard. Sometimes it is on the same key as F8, F7, or Insert. Press Fn+F8, F7, or Insert to enable/disable numlock.
Its commonly used to activate the number pad, which contains the numbers 09 and usually some other symbols. The symbol for the NumLock key is usually located at the top of the keyboard near the function keys, but this can vary depending on your model.
When you press the U, I, O, J, K, L letter keys on the right side of keyboard, occasionally numbers can come up instead. This situation usually occurs when Num Lock has been enabled. To solve this problem, you should turn Num Lock off. To disable Num Lock, press the FN key and F11.
On most computers, you can disable the number lock using the NumLock key or a combination of FN and one of the function keys F1-F12. If your computer does not have a NumLock key like the Predator PT515-52s, you can use the on-screen keyboard in Windows 11 to enable or disable the number lock.

Num Lock or Numeric Lock (⇭) is a key on the numeric keypad of most computer keyboards. It is a lock key, like Caps Lock and Scroll Lock.
