to delete an embedded chart from a worksheet you must first select the chart area you can do this by selecting chart area from the chart elements drop-down menu in the current selection button group on the format tab in the chart tools contextual tab in the ribbon next press the Delete key on your keyboard to delete the chart object from the worksheet if you have placed the chart on its own worksheet in the workbook then you should delete the worksheet that contains the chart to remove it from the workbook entirely you can right click on the worksheet tab that contains the chart and then choose the delete command from the pop-up menu that appears in the confirmation message box that then opens click the delete button to permanently remove the worksheet chart

After legend entries have been deleted, the only way to restore them is to remove and recreate the legend that contained them by setting the HasLegend property for the chart to False and then back to True.
In the Select Data Source dialog box, in the Legend Entries (Series) box, select the legend entry that you want to change. Click Edit. Tip: To add a new legend entry, click Add, or to remove a legend entry, click Remove.
In the Legend Entries (Series) box, click the series you want to change. Click Edit, make your changes, and click OK. Changes you make may break links to the source data on the worksheet. To rearrange a series, select it, and then click Move Up or Move Down .
Here are the steps to do it in Excel: Click on the chart to select it. Click on the legend to select it. Click on the legend entry that you want to delete. Press the Delete key on your keyboard.
Under Chart Tools, on the Design tab, in the Data group, click Select Data. In the Select Data Source dialog box, in the Legend Entries (Series) box, click the data series that you want to change the order of. Click the Move Up or Move Down arrows to move the data series to the position that you want.
You can also edit the text in the legend and change the order of the entries in the legend. On the View menu, click Print Layout. Click the chart, and then click the Chart Design tab. Click Add Chart Element Legend. To change the position of the legend, choose Right, Top, Left, or Bottom.
Click on the drop-down menu for the Column section and choose the one that says Helper. Leave the Sort On column as it is. Change the order option from Smallest to Largest to Largest to Smallest. Click OK to see the data reverse its order.
