Hello and in this video, we are going to learn 2 different ways to clear all highlighted text in a Word document. So, I have a very simple document here, and you can see that there are yellow highlights scattered here and there in the document. but we dont want to do it manually. This is because from a technical perspective, highlights are not considered as a type of formatting in Word. So what do we do? Well, just press Ctrl H to open the Find amp;amp; replace dialog box, and then click on the Find box. Well, if you press Ctrl F, Word immediately thinks that you want to find all the instances the current text, so it will not work. Scroll all the way down to the Format box, and select Highlight which is the last option here. We want to find all highlighted text in the main document, so select that. Sometimes when we are copying and pasting text, the text is highlighted. For some reason this highlighting is very difficult to remove in Word. The key to removing the highlight is to use the Merge Formatting or Keep Text Only commands when you first paste the text into your document.
Click the area of highlighted text you wish to remove. This will create a blue outline around the text. A small toolbox will appear with three icons. Choose the third icon the trash symbol to remove the highlighted text.
Remove highlighting from part or all of a document Select the text that you want to remove highlighting from or press Ctrl+A to select all of the text. Go to Home and select the arrow next to Text Highlight Color. Select No Color.
To turn off highlighting, click the highlight tool again. Remove a highlight, an underline, or a strikethrough: Control-click the text, then choose Remove item from the shortcut menu.

Select some text, then click Insert Highlight to highlight some text. To change your highlight color: View Comments Changes Author Color, and select a custom color. To leave a comment on highlighted text: Mouseover highlighted text, click Add a Comment, type your comment, and click Done.
