hi this is ross with your one minute tech tip sometimes microsoft word tends to add unwanted features to your text in this case these little black squares uh when youamp;#39;re using headings to get rid of these just select the items you want right click select paragraph and uncheck this box keep with next and you can see the squares then disappear paragraph keep with next iamp;#39;ve cleared up my squares thanks for joining me for this one minute tech tip

Restore a default style On your computer, open a document in Google Docs. Restore original to the Google style: Click Format. Select Paragraph styles, then select Options. Finally, choose Reset styles.
When youre done, select Close Header and Footer or press Esc. Double-click inside the header or footer area. Select the text you want to change and type your new header or footer in its place. Select Close Header and Footer or double-click anywhere outside of the header or footer area to exit.
Changing a Heading to Body Text Using the mouse, click on the Demote to Body Text tool. This is the one that looks like two right arrows. Apply a formatting style that is not a heading level. Using the mouse, drag the body text indicator (the small plus sign to the left of the heading) to the right.
To change the Outline level without messing up the rest of the formatting, select the text and then type SHIFT + ALT + left/right arrow. If you want to downgrade a paragraph from heading (level 1) or subheading (level 2) to body text, use the right arrow, if you want to upgrade to a higher level use the left arrow.
Go to Insert Header or Footer, and then select Remove Header or Remove Footer.
Tip: You can change the font and formatting of a heading style. Just select the heading text you want to customize, modify its styles the way you want, and then on the Home tab, in the Styles group, right-click the heading style that you customized and click Update Heading to Match Selection.
Select the text that you want to return to its default formatting. In Word: On the Edit menu, click Clear and then select Clear Formatting.
