You can undo, redo, or repeat many actions in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. You can undo changes, even after you have saved, and then save again, as long as you are within the undo limits (By default Office saves the last 100 undoable actions).
To undo an action press Ctrl+Z on your keyboard, or select Undo on the Quick Access Toolbar. You can press Undo (or Ctrl+Z) repeatedly if you want to undo multiple steps. Note: For more information about the Quick Access Toolbar, see Customize the Quick Access Toolbar.
Remove character from multiple cells using Find and Replace Select a range of cells where you want to remove a specific character. Press Ctrl + H to open the Find and Replace dialog. In the Find what box, type the character. Leave the Replace with box empty. Click Replace all.
Use the Undo Function: If you recently deleted the cell, simply click Undo in the toolbar or press Ctrl+Z on your keyboard to restore it.
You can deselect any cells within the selected range with the Deselect Tool. Pressing the Ctrl key, you can click, or click-and-drag to deselect any cells or ranges within a selection. If you need to reselect any of those cells, continue holding the Ctrl key and reselect those cells (for Mac, use the Cmd key).
Only the most recent cell change is reversible. To revert to an older cell value, right-click the cell and select Show history. Alternatively, select a cell and click the Cell history icon in the top-right of the grid. This displays older cell values, which you can manually re-enter.
If you just have a couple of cells with formulas that you want to undo, you can use the cells See edit history, and copy and paste the old formula, from that text window that pops up, and paste it over your current formula in the formula bar, for the cell in question.
To undo an edit, click Undo (left arrow to the left of the Save drop-down) or use Ctrl-Z on PC or ⌘Z on Mac. To redo an edit that youve undone, click Redo (right arrow to the left of the Save drop-down) or use either Ctrl-Y / Ctrl-Shift-Z on PC or ⌘Y / ⌘Shift-Z on Mac. You can undo and redo changes only between saves.
