Recover Deleted Files on Mac: Quick Navigation You can quickly restore lost files by pressing the Command + Z undelete keys. However, this requires you to do it as soon as possible and cannot restart your computer; otherwise, it will not work.
To undo an action press Ctrl+Z on your keyboard, or select Undo on the Quick Access Toolbar.
Ctrl+Z (or Command+Z on a Mac) is a common keyboard shortcut for Undo. Usually, programs with the Undo function keep track of not just your most recent change but an entire series of your most recent changes.
Restore your Mac to the Previous Date Hold down the Command + R keys while you restart Mac to run the OS X Recovery Tool. Choose the Restore from the Time Machine Backup option. Choose the backup made before your Mac experienced problems or slowed down if you have more than one.
To change these settings, choose Apple menu System Settings, click General in the sidebar, then click Date Time on the right. (You may need to scroll down.)
Undo the last action: Choose Edit Undo (from the Edit menu at the top of your screen), or press Command-Z on your keyboard. Redo the last action you undid: Choose Edit Redo, or press Command-Shift-Z.
If you have a habit of backing up your Mac regularly, you can restore your Mac to an earlier date from Time Machine or restore with Mac Migration Assistant. If you dont have any backups, you can still recover data and files with professional data recovery software EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard for Mac.
Heres how to undo the keyboard. To undo your most recent action, just press Command + Z. Repeat several times if you need to undo several actions.
