COVID-19 Update: LSAC has announced that they will be offering an online, live remote-proctored format through June 2022. Starting in August 2021, the LSAT will continue to have three scored sections, but will add back in a fourth, unscored variable section.
These are broken down into four multiple-choice sections of 24 to 28 questions each. Each LSAT multiple-choice section must be completed in 35 minutes or less, barring special accommodation. There is a 10-minute break between the second and third sections.

The LSAT is administered in two parts. The first part consists of several 35-minute sections of multiple-choice questions. The second part of the LSAT consists of a 35-minute, unscored LSAT Writing sample.
Beginning with the August 2021 LSAT, the test will include three scored sections and one unscored section so that we can validate new test questions for future use.
The most common question types are: assumption questions, strengthening/weakening questions, flaw questions, and inference questions. Less common question types include argument method questions, paradox questions, parallel reasoning questions, point at issue questions, principle questions, and role questions.
