A typeface (or font family) is a design of letters, numbers and other symbols, to be used in printing or for electronic display. Most typefaces include variations in size (e.g., 24 point), weight (e.g., light, bold), slope (e.g., italic), width (e.g., condensed), and so on.
Typeface is a wonderful font manager for macOS that helps you pick the perfect type for your designs. A minimal interface and total focus on your fonts makes browsing your collection a delightful experience.
The term font refers to the specific weight, size, and width of a typeface. For example, Arial is a typeface, but Arial Regular 14 point is a font. Arial Bold 20 point is another font. Every variation of a typefaceindicating a different size, weight, or styleis a different font.
basically anything that distinguishes one set of letters from any other set of letters in the world. Even if you dont use the word typeface, you know them! Common typefaces include Arial, Times New Roman, Roboto, and Helvetica.
tweak the text is a correct and usable phrase in written English. You can use it when you want to make slight changes to the tone or phrasing of a written passage. For example, I had to tweak the text to make it more conversational.
The four most common ways are to credit either 1) only the studio/company, 2) only the name of the main designer, 3) inconsistently across media, or 4) as part of the general description. Other disciplines (e.g. printer, photographer, illustrator) are more often outlined rather than parts of the type design process.
You can think of typeface as another term for font (the two words are often used interchangeably), although its more accurate to call a typeface a font family, a group of fonts with similar designs. Typefaces have official names like Comic Sans, Garamond, and Helvetica.
A typeface is the underlying visual design that can exist in many different typesetting technologies, and a font is one of these implementations. In other words, a typeface is what you see and a font is what you use.
