To edit your csv files, we strongly advise you to use a simple text editor such as Notepad++ or Sublime Text. Using Excel to edit your files is more complex: Excel renders certain values such as ICCID or IMEI in numbers and truncates them, leading to information being not easily usable.
A csv file is really just text - the fontsize / style in a csv file is determined solely by the application you open the file with. If you need formatting, maybe a richer format (like excel) might be more appropriate?
Fix UTF-8 CSV Encoding Errors Click Choose File-Save As from the menu. In the Save as type dropdown, select. Comma Separated Values (*. csv). Select Web Options from the Tools dropdown at the bottom of the dialog box. Select the Encoding tab. In the Save this document as: dropdown, select Unicode (UTF-8).
In Excel, navigate to Data Import External Data Import Data/Import From Text and choose 65001 Unicode (UTF-8). Save your settings then re-open your file to confirm that special characters are displayed correctly.
Method 1: Open the CSV file using Notepad. Click File -- Save As. In the dialog window that appears, select ANSI from the Encoding field. Click Save. Open this new CSV file using Excel. Non-English characters are displayed properly.
If you have opened a csv file and found weird characters in it, chances are you are using Excel. All of WebCollects exports are in the UTF8 character set, which covers all international characters correctly. Some versions of Excel have trouble opening csv files that use UTF8 format.
Please be informed that CSV doesnot allow any formatting like Bold, and other formatting. The only possibility is to use the Table tool (in Reporting palette) and you can output in the Excel format to keep the bold reflected in the output extracted.
CSV character escaper: backslash \ The backslash is used to escape special characters in a CSV file. Example for any special character: if the CSV file is stored as Google Sheets: company\Subsidiary\ if the CSV file is stored as CSV: company\\Subsidiary\\
