okay so um something i was playing around with and this was a an idea that i got from michael eskin and a not that heamp;#39;s the one that originated this but um he was talking about how he had a burke uh where the c natural was just a little bit sharp for his liking and he said he just dealt with it for years because and he made a post uh where he said i finally just went ahead and taped it and i read through the the comments and somebody suggested taping the bottom of the of the holes so um what iamp;#39;ve done is uh iamp;#39;ve taken some electrical tape so my so my burke is one of my favorite soprano d whistles and the only thing that i didnamp;#39;t like about it is that the the c natural even when with this finger fingering seemed like it tends to be a little bit sharp if you blow it a little bit too hard and so what i did is i taped just the very very bottom of that with some electrical tape and itamp;#39;s itamp;#39;s about perfect now so itamp;#39;s now uh it

Tweaking means, simply, to change a whistle to try and improve it. This can be done by modifying the mouthpiece or tube in various ways. A classic simple tweak is to squeeze a Clarke mouthpiece a little more closed, so that it takes less breath. I say simple but Ive always failed at even that small of a tweak.

Play the lower octave notes. This will produce the tonic (a D on the D whistle). Blowing too softly will make the note airy or nonexistent. Blowing too hard will produce the upper octave or a squeak. Blowing just right will create a steady, low tonic pitch.

Strong breath control is absolutely fundamental to good tin whistle playing. As an Irish whistle player, mastering your breathing is one of the most important steps toward mastering your instrument. The breath affects not just your tone, but also the rhythm and flow of the tune.
These whistles feature tuning slides to allow you to adjust the pitch, meaning youll always be in tune with your fellow musicians. We have tunable models from some giants in the tin whistle world like Tony Dixon.
