Set the flight simulators resolution to the native display resolution (this will not help the flight sim software itself but will speed up the response time of the display). Put a reasonable limit on the maximum frame rate. A good value is 30 - 40 fps.
In-Game Settings Target Frame Rate: Filtering: (Bilinear, Trilinear, Anisotropic) Anti-aliasing: (On/Off) Note on Filtering and Anti-Aliasing: Global Texture Resolution: (Very Low / Low / Medium / High / Very High) Lens Flare: (On/Off) Light Bloom: (On/Off) Advanced Animations: (On/Off)
The in-game quality that youll find with the Steam Edition is the same as FSX, albeit made to run faster and work properly with modern operating systems.
Im aware that FSX and X-plane use autogenerated scenery; i.e. scenery generated by the computer that resembles real-world, but is not based on the real world.
However, you will find what is best for your computer and for your gaming experience. Close other programs. Watch the windows, and change views. Change the resolution. Use full-screen mode. Change the display settings. Change the sound preferences. Change the weather settings. Reduce air traffic density.
CHANGE THE GRAPHICS SETTINGS Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator, go to Options General options Graphics. There you will find a wealth of options for you to adjust that may allow you to get better performances. Under Advanced Settings, test FXAA instead of TAA for instance. Once done, press F11/click to Apply Save.
