as a programmer who also does a fair amount of sis admin work I spend a substantial amount of time interacting with the terminal and over time I have optimized a few things I started using alosis adding shortcuts for commonly used commands finally getting rid of those long as stage ones I discovered t-o no longer did I have to open new terminal Windows when one wasnamp;#39;t enough I could have it all in one independent of whichever terminal I was using then came Vim which let me edit files directly in the terminal there are also smaller stuff like enabling case insensitive command completion and displaying the git Branch these configurations reside in the home directory in the form of dot files vim and t-o have their own files but most other settings are added to the the Basher C file so I started adding stuff sometimes installing some software would also add changes so inevitably it got cluttered as I often work in different machines and frequently set up
