Margins are the blank spaces that line the top, bottom, and left and right sides of a document. They are important because they help make a document look neat and professional.
In Ms-Word, Margin is the space provided between edge of the documents page to the text appearing on the page. It is of four types in Ms-word Left, Right, Top and Bottom After setting the margin of the page, whatever we type will appear after the set margin.
You can set the margin property to auto to horizontally center the element within its container. The element will then take up the specified width, and the remaining space will be split equally between the left and right margins.
And if you set: margin: 20px auto; Then that means top and bottom margin of 20px and left and right margin of auto. And auto means that the left/right margin are automatically set based on the container.
A margin is the empty space between a documents contents and the edges of the page. Words default margins are 1 inch on each side of the page, but you can change the margins to accommodate the needs of your document.
An equally important formatting setting in academic writing is keeping your margins at 1-inch (or 2.5 centimeters) all around.
There should not be extra spaces between paragraphs. Margins: ing to the MLA, your essay should have a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, left, and right. However, for this course, just keep the default margins in Word.
