hi everyone my name is Caleb Alberto and this summer I worked on an efficient symbol symbol index for Clank T at Google so clang T is our one cursor protocol implementation that provides smart ID features like code completion and one of the focus of our team was to to improve the speed and quality of code completion of our global symbols so as soon as the user the completion pipeline starts with user typing some text in requesting code completion through their editor in its sense sends a request to clang D which choirs the index and the sin tax returns completion list which contains some variables functions class names and so on so the symbol index is kind of the heart of global code completion for for Clank D and we wanted to improve the performance so the new symbol index is called tax and we wanted our our vision of tax was interest by several factors we wanted open-source developers to be able to run a global code completion without noticeable latency we wanted it to be high qualit
