Impression share (IS) is the number of impressions youve received divided by the estimated number of impressions you were eligible to receive. A low impression share on the Search Network means your keywords are matching customer searches, but your ads arent appearing due to other issues.
If youre using unbranded and relatively unique keywords, its good to try to have an impression share of at least 90-95%, but for more popular keywords or if you have a limited budget, 60% is a good benchmark.
CTR is the number of clicks that your ad receives divided by the number of times your ad is shown: clicks impressions = CTR. For example, if you had 5 clicks and 100 impressions, then your CTR would be 5%. Each of your ads, listings, and keywords have their own CTRs that you can see listed in your account.
Basically, its the percentage of people who click your ad (clicks) divided by the ones who view your ad (impressions). As far as what constitutes a good click through rate, the average is around 1.91% for search and 0.35% for display.
