alright guys so to give you guys a bit of a rundown on how I got a bit more grunt from my 1994 2.8 turbo diesel rode a alright now first up there is a few adjustment screw on the back of your injection pump that requires a 13 millimeter extension socket with a flat head screwdriver to adjust its just sitting down there just below your rejection solenoid Ive wearing my own quarter of a turn clockwise by doing this you will get instant power gains its quite a good little mod weve also included my own homemade oil catch camp with a one-way check valve so the oil doesnt return up back from the Sun seems to be working well Im getting bugger all blow by now Ive also included a an intercooler off of a 3.1 turbo diesel intercooled jackaroo these things are a direct bolt-on just here Ive had to make up a little bracket for this one which its pretty hard to see but just to mocked up a little bracket the whole back side down properly one thing you will have to do though with your turbo y

What is good EGT for diesel?

When dealing with a diesel vehicle, your EGT is a critical factor in its performance. Generally speaking, the lower your EGT, the better. At Manta Performance, we recommend that your EGT stay under 550C (as measured at the turbo outlet) to assure your engines safety.

What is a high EGT temp?

At rich air-fuel ratio, the exhaust gas temperature either increases or decreases depending on the fuel. High temperatures (typically above 1,600 F or 900 C) can be an indicator of dangerous conditions that can lead to catastrophic engine failure.

How is EGT measured?

The gas temperature is measured by a number of thermocouples mounted in the exhaust stream and is presented on a flight deck gauge in either degrees Fahrenheit or degrees Celcius. In a piston engine, EGT is a measurement of the temperature of the exhaust gases at the exhaust manifold.

What is a good EGT range?

For towing, wed say 1,200 degrees is a safe number, with occasional spikes of up to 1,400 degrees when climbing grades being an acceptable risk. The concept of EGT is analogous to putting something in the oven. You can put your hand in a hot oven for a second or two, and nothing will happen.
