RTF files are simple to use and easy to edit. On Windows, save a document as an RTF file by navigating to File Save as and then select RTF. Once youve opened your RTF file on Microsoft Word, select the text you would like to edit. Start typing in this space to replace the current text with the new text.
Windows 7 Click Start. Click Default Programs (located at the bottom right). Click Associate a file type or protocol with a program. Click on the file extension that you want to change i.e. . rtf. Click Change Program. Select Microsoft Word. Click OK.
Its simple to change an RTF file to Word. Open the document and navigate to File and then Save As. Choose where you would like to save it. Find the Save File Type field and change the type from Rich Text Format to Word Document. Click Save.
This article will describe which data type to use when you want to store rich formatted text (RTF) in a data base table. Since the Rich Text Format is in fact text, you can store it in a column with a text data type.
Open the file in a word processor, select the desired text and copy and paste it to a text document. For example, create a new text document in NotePad, then open the RTF document in Word and select a few sentences by holding the left button of the mouse down as you highlight them.
Turning RTF into Word docs isnt too difficult and can be done with either Word or Google Docs. Open your RTF in Word or Google Docs and click Save As. Once you see the Save as dialog, change the Save as file type to . docx.
In the Data Type column, select Long Text. Under Field Properties, click the General tab. Click inside the Text Format box and select Rich Text. Save your changes.
